The Forum Theatre in Romiley will benefit from new sound equipment following the award of funding from the recent round of UKSPF (United Kingdom Shared Prosperity Fund). A total of £33,988 has been received which will allow the venue to significantly improve the audio of theatrical shows and events.

Darren Stannage, Company Manager at NK Theatre Arts who operates the theatre said everyone is delighted with the award.

“Having recently reopened following repairs to our public areas, it is fantastic that the theatre facilities are also going to be enhanced as we continue to expand our cultural offer in the borough. Although all of the local organisations who perform at the theatre will benefit from the new equipment, the investment will allow for us to also open the doors specifically to a wide variety of music events. With so many fantastic bands and musicians emerging from the borough, we look forward to working with our cultural partners to provide a platform for them as they continue to put Stockport on the map when it comes to live music.”

The new equipment will be installed as soon as possible, with many music events set to be staged at the theatre in the coming months, including Happy Monday’s star Shaun Ryder who will be visiting The Forum this September.
